SP-43-0-011 is a methacrylate monomer functionalized by the 4-methylcoumarine, a fluorescent aromatic ring used in the design of smart materials.
This methacrylic monomer also called 7-methacryloxy-4-methylcoumarin (MAOMC) or 7-methacryloyloxy-4-Me coumarin (MAMC) can be used in free radical polymerization as well as in controlled polymerization (ie: RAFT [1]) with a large range of co-monomers such as acrylamide or N-tert-butylacrylamide (NTB), N-vinyl pyrrolidone (NVP) or fluorinated methacrylates.
This monomer is incorporated in the synthesis of organohydrogels [1] or hybrid dendrimers [2] with a wild biomedical applications: pigments with a great capacity for live-cell fluorescence imaging [2], injectable smart gels [1], …. This monomer is also a constituent of innovative materials and coatings with different assets: anti-freezing [3], anticounterfeiting [3] or antimicrobial properties. [4,5,6]
