This month, we would like to highlight R&D product SP-8P-2-006 that correspond to Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (also called D₄) bearing triethoxysilane functional groups. This cyclic siloxane based building blocks is of high interest in the design and conception of sol-gel materials with peculiar morphologies. As for example, it was used to obtain hollow hybrid silica-silicone nanocapsules of controlled diameter [1] or for the development of microporous dielectric films. [2] More recenty, this silane-functionalized cyclosiloxane was shown to be of great interest for silicon master anti-stick layer. [3]
