Epoxymethyl di(m)ethyl phosphonate (SP-3-15-003 & SP-3-15-006) are small reactive building-blocks that could be involved in both organic and polymerization reactions. Indeed, the epoxy group can be used in ring opening reactions with several nucleophilic precursors to access to β-Hydroxyphosphonates with different properties and activities. For example, these reactants are used in the synthesis of nucleoside analogs [1] or phosphonated polyols [2]. As monomers, SP-3-15-003 and SP-3-15-006 can react with epoxy resins and hardeners. In that case, phosphonate groups are inserted into the network conferring flame retardant properties to the resulting material.[3]
