Sodium-based Methacrylic and Styrenic Monomers for Batteries.
Since 2019, SPECIFIC POLYMERS commercializes functional monomers bearing trifluoromethane sulfonimide lithium (LiTFSI or TFSILi) salts: MTFSILi (SP-49-023) and STFSILi (SP-59-011). As you may be aware of, intensive efforts are dedicated to the research and development of lithium and sodium batteries. In 2021, SPECIFIC POLYMERS is moved forward and start offering to the R&D community sodium derivatives of these monomeric salts : MTFSINa (SP-49-028) and STFSINa (SP-59-012). Both these TFSINa functional monomers are of high interest in the development of sodium based gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) or solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) materials. For instance, this MTFSINa was recently used in the design of elastic single-ion conducting polymer electrolytes and this paper reports that the sulfonyl imide anion based single sodium-ion conducting polymer electrolyte can be of great interest in future sodium-ion batteries.[1]
