SPECIFIC POLYMERS’ main activity is dedicated to the custom synthesis of various molecules and macromolecules, i.e. building blocks, monomers and polymers. Our lab is equipped with high-tech units to synthesize specific products from grams to hundreds of grams or even a kilogram, for particular reactions.

After synthesis, our treatment and purification apparatus allows us to obtain desired products with high purity levels. Treatments and purification methods depend on the chemical nature and physical form of the products. Depending on our objectives, various classical treatments, such as solvent removal by rotatory evaporation, distillation, cryodistillation, dialysis, liquid-liquid extraction, recrystallization, polymer precipitation/coagulation or heating drying, can be implemented in our labs.
After synthesis, our treatment and purification apparatus allows us to obtain desired products with high purity levels. Treatments and purification methods depend on the chemical nature and physical form of the products. The functioning of all our synthesis, treatment and purification devices is supported by secondary apparatus, such as recirculating coolers, ice generators, water deionisers, vacuum pumps, vane pumps, desiccators and laboratory fluids (N2, Ar, CO2, liquid nitrogen, etc.).
Finally, safety is a primary concern for the company. We make a point of providing our employees with the safest working conditions. Our labs are equipped with all necessary safety equipment such as air handling units; S.C.A.T™ safety funnels with ball valves, safety cabinets for the storage of hazardous, flammable, acid-based products, ventilated dedicated spaces for the storage of chemicals separated from the main building; powder masks, full-facepiece respirators and classical laboratory personal protective equipment (laboratory gloves, glasses and protective lab coats).

All synthesized products are characterized by high-performance analytical equipment, mainly nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), size-exclusion chromatography (SEC), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) or rheometry.
